The Sinclair celebrates opening in Harvard Square

The new Harvard Square club-restaurant The Sinclair opened a few weeks ago, but the owners didn’t celebrate until the other night, when over 400 people filled the Church Street venue, chatting up the owners: Jim Glancy of Bowery Presents and chef Michael Schlow . Also there were Denise Jillson of the Harvard Square Business Association, “StyleBoston” creator Terri Stanley , Mary-Catherine Deibel of UpStairs on the Square, and C.J. “The Oyster Dude” Husk of Island Creek Oysters, who shucked up a storm for guests. The place won praise for its vibe — “It reminds me of a Paris metro station,” said Janice Checchio — and for the people in the crowd — “I had an oyster with Mary Richardson from ‘Chronicle’,” said Thomas Hyde, “so now I can die a happy man.”
