The 21-year-old son of Celtics great Larry Bird is in trouble. The Indianapolis Star reports that Connor Bird was busted at Indiana University for allegedly trying to hit his ex-girlfriend with a car. He faces charges including battery with injury, criminal mischief, intimidation with a deadly weapon, and possession of marijuana. According to the newspaper, Bird and the young woman, whose name has not been released, got into an argument at Bird’s apartment in Bloomington, and it continued later in a parking lot, where Bird allegedly tried twice to hit the woman with his car. “This is a very private matter that we’re going to try to resolve quickly,” said John L. Tompkins, an attorney representing Connor Bird. “We’re thankful that no one was seriously injured.”
