The Independent Film Festival Boston has named Casey Affleck as creative advisor, a role described in a press release as including “outreach to studios, filmmakers, and talent” and “offering programming input, connecting the festival with local charities, and advising on festival growth.” Affleck, the younger brother of “Argo” director Ben Affleck, will attend this year’s fest, which takes place April 24-30. Affleck, who was born in Falmouth and grew up in Cambridge, is perhaps best known for his roles in “To Die For,” “Good Will Hunting,” and his brother’s directorial debut, “Gone Baby Gone.” He can next be seen in David Lowery’s “Ain’t Them Bodies Saints” with Rooney Mara.
