Gregory Maguire introduces ‘Little Prince’

We have to admit that we teared up a bit when we read local author Gregory Maguire’s foreword in the new edition of “The Little Prince.” The “Wicked” writer was asked to introduce the young adult edition of the classic tale by Antoine de Saint-
Exupéry
, which will be released March 5 as part of a 70th anniversary gift set celebrating the story. We won’t spoil the intro for you. All we’ll say is that Maguire likens the experience of saying Saint-Exupéry’s name to “gargling with garlicky snails,” and that he signs his foreword, “Gregory Maguire, Concord, Massachusetts.” The “Little Prince” gift set includes a narration of the book by last year’s Coolidge Award recipient, Viggo Mortensen.
