Save the date: Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z will, in fact, be performing at Fenway Park in August as part of their summer stadium tour. Timberlake took to Twitter to confirm the rumors Friday, and Live Nation followed with the details. The dynamic duo, whose tour is dubbed, somewhat immodestly, “Legends of the Summer,” will be at friendly Fenway Aug. 10. (The Red Sox will be in Kansas City playing the Royals.) Timberlake and the artist formerly known as Shawn Carter are following in the footsteps of Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Dave Matthews, Aerosmith, Jimmy Buffett, and assorted others who’ve set up their speakers in center field. The JT/Jay-Z tour kicks off in Toronto July 17 with stops at other open-air venues in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Hershey, Pa., Detroit, Baltimore, Boston, and Philadelphia. Tix for the Boston show go on sale Feb. 28 at LiveNation.com. If you’re wondering if a second show might be added, the answer is maybe. We’re told it’s contingent on the ticket sales for the first show. Timberlake is about to release “The 20/20 Experience,” his first album since 2006. The first single, “Suit & Tie,” featuring Jay-Z, is not terribly interesting but it’s still a Top 10 hit on pop radio.
