Emerson plans memorial event for Rex Trailer

Emerson College will pay tribute to the late great Rex Trailer at an event March 12 at the Cutler Majestic Theatre. The memorial for the TV cowboy, who passed away last month at 84, will be free and open to the public. The two-hour ceremony will include video highlights of Trailer’s career and a musical tribute, which will feature a performance of the “Boomtown” theme song. Among those expected to speak, either live or via video, are Trailer’s former students, Emerson alums, colleagues, and friends, including WBZ NewsRadio’s Jordan Rich, WHDH-TV reporter Adam Harding, “Extra” host Maria Menounos, The ARC of Massachusetts president Leo Sarkisian, Trailer’s daughter Jillian Trailer-Rollock, and Michael Bavaro, director of the documentary “Rex Trailer’s Boomtown.”
