WBZ’s Wade behind #FakeBostonOlympicEvents

It seems we can thank WBZ’s David Wade for #FakeBostonOlympicEvents, which was a trending topic on Twitter on Tuesday. Wade threw out the idea in response to news about a private group that wants Boston to host the 2024 Summer Olympics. We have to admit, some of Wade’s followers had some good ideas for local sports. Daniel Rheault, a.k.a., @RogueIntegrity suggested “100 yard dash down North End’s Hanover street sidewalk in the summer. +.5 second penalties for collisions.” @ErikGupp suggested, “First one to hail a cab in Faneuil Hall at 2AM on a weekend and make it to their destination gets the gold.”
@redsoxchickie offered up, “carrying 2 full beers to your seats at Fenway.” Wade himself tweeted, “Synchronized Baseball Team/Soccer Team Ownership. #FakeBostonOlympicEvents.” That one’s for you, John Henry.
