Confirming something we told you a week ago, Live Nation announced Monday that Paul McCartney will play at Fenway Park on July 9 as part of his “Out There” tour. Sir Paul, who will turn 71 in June, performed two shows at the ballpark in 2009. Tickets to the show go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at www.livenation.com or www.redsox.com. Just like the last time he was here, Macca is promising to play songs from his vast catalog, including Beatles tunes, hits he had with Wings, and solo material. The press release from Live Nation says McCartney will be in town for “one night only,” so don’t expect a second show to be added.
