Museum of Fine Arts celebrates ‘Samurai!’ guy


Collector Gabriel Barbier-Mueller (left) joined Museum of Fine Arts director Malcolm Rogers in front of pieces in the exhibition “Samurai! Armor From the Ann and Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Collection,” which opens at the MFA on Sunday. Barbier-Mueller, who traveled from Texas to Boston with his wife and three grown children for the opening reception, told MFA that his kids used to try on his samurai armor collection when they were little, which is why he never collected swords. Makes sense.
