Jon Batiste, from HBO’s “Treme,” “Wicked” author Gregory Maguire, architect Moshe Safdie, astronaut Cady Coleman, and Harmonix cofounder Eran Egozy were among the big names at the ninth annual gala for “From the Top,” the locally produced NPR show that highlights the talents of young musicians. The celebration, themed “Unique and Unmissable,” was held at the Back Bay Events Center and featured music from Batiste and his group Stay Human, as well as Radiohead-loving pianist Christopher O’Riley, who also hosts the show. “From the Top” airs around Boston at 11 a.m. on Sundays on Classical New England (99.5 FM).
