The cable network WGN America has picked up a show about the Salem witch trials, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show, called “Salem,” will be the network’s first scripted series, and will be helmed by “24” producer Brannon Braga and Adam Simon, who wrote “The Haunting in Connecticut.” “Salem” will take place in 17th-century Massachusetts, but no one’s hinting that it’ll film here — at least not yet.
