The Nantucket Film Festival hosted its All-Star Comedy Roundtable on Sunday with funny guys Seth Meyers, Ben Stiller, Mike Myers, and Michael Ian Black, who served as moderator. If you weren’t able to get to the island to see it, the movie network Epix will broadcast the event this fall. The film festival has also announced the winners of its Showtime Tony Cox awards for new screenwriters. Destin Daniel Cretton, who wrote and directed “Short Term 12,” featuring Brie Larson, was awarded Best Screenwriting in a Feature Film, while Goran Dukic, of “What Do We Have in Our Pockets?,” won the Best Screenwriting in a Short Film prize. Sean Fine and Andrea Nix Fine won the Audience Award for Best Feature Film for “Life According to Sam,” which focuses on two Massachusetts doctors and their son Sam, who has the progressive aging disorder progeria. Other awards included the Vimeo Award for Best Writer/Director, which went to Ryan Coogler, of the Sundance Film Festival hit “Fruitvale Station,” and the Adrienne Shelley Excellence in Filmmaking Award, which went to Penny Lane for “Our Nixon.”
