Jim Rash and Nat Faxon happy to be ‘Back’

Oscar winners Jim Rash and Nat Faxon (above, from left) came around Sunday for a cast and crew screening of “The Way, Way Back” at the Patriot Cinemas in Hanover, where they were joined by cast member Steve Carell and producer Kevin Walsh, both Boston natives. They celebrated afterward at a private residence in Duxbury.

Rash and Faxon — who earned a best adapted screenplay nod for “The Descendants” in 2011 — wrote, directed, and played minor roles in their new dramedy, which they shot last summer on the South Shore. The cast includes Golden Globe winner Toni Collette, Emmy winner Allison Janney, and Liam James, who plays the 14-year-old lead.
