Boston Casting looking for a Pele look-alike

Boston Casting has announced an upcoming casting call for a movie about Brazilian soccer legend Pele (above). The local casting business, which is seeking a Pele look-alike between the ages of 18 and 30, says it will hold an open call from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 13 at its offices at 129 Braintree St. in Allston. The movie will follow the athlete from childhood through his first World Cup win for Brazil in 1958. The casting call doesn’t specify who’s responsible for the film, but in May, the real-life Pele, who’s now 72, traveled to the Cannes film festival to promote a biopic that would be produced by Ron Howard and Brian Grazer’s Imagine Entertainment. Based on the description of that film, it’s the same project, which means that Jeff and Michael Zimbalist are attached to direct.
