A day after appearing with her husband Spike Lee at the premiere of Cirque du Soleil’s “Michael Jackson ONE” in Las Vegas, writer-producer-activist Tonya Lewis Lee spoke at the Museum of Fine Arts as part of the Roxbury International Film Festival. During the talk, Lee unveiled the trailer for her latest project, “The Watsons Go to Birmingham.” The film, which she executive produced, is an adaptation of Christopher Paul Curtis’s children’s book about a Michigan family traveling to Alabama during the Civil Rights movement. Tonya will show the film in Oak Bluffs on Aug. 20.
