Mayor Tom Menino made a brief appearance at the Parkman House on opening night of Commonwealth Shakespeare Company’s free Shakespeare on the Common. But there were a few other familiar faces in the crowd, including Oscar-winning actor Chris Cooper and his wife, writer Marianne Leone Cooper, “Monk” star Tony Shalhoub and his wife, actress Brooke Adams, and, of course, Commonwealth Shakespeare artistic director Steven Maler.
