In his new HBO film “Clear History,” premiering Aug. 10, Larry David plays a universally beloved resident of Martha’s Vineyard. But make no mistake, that’s not the way things really are on the island, where David has been spending summers for the past 13 years. “Not like in the movie,” the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” curmudgeon said with a laugh during a TV Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills, Calif. Much of the movie, which is about a guy who takes revenge on his former boss, was filmed on the North Shore. It costars Jon Hamm, Kate Hudson, Danny McBride, Bill Hader, Michael Keaton, and locals Lenny Clarke and Jimmy Tingle. Asked if “Curb” is coming back for another season, David was noncommittal. “I really don’t know. I couldn’t say. Ask me in six months.” Why does it take him so long to make up his mind? “I don’t know. I’m just an indecisive fellow,” he said. “You should see me at a restaurant.” Later, he jokingly admitted, Costanza-style: “I’m lazy. Lazy!”
