A shout-out to the organizers of the annual WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund
Radio-Telethon, which raised over $3.3 million for adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. As always, the two-day event featured the affecting personal stories of patients and Jimmy Fund care providers and researchers. The telethon has raised more than $34 million since 2002. . . . Some of that money was raised by the family of Sean Collier, the MIT police officer murdered in the aftermath of the Marathon bombings. The Sox honored the Collier clan for their fund-raising efforts by having them throw out a first pitch at Fenway this week.
