Ben Affleck to direct locally set TV pilot

Boston’s Ben Affleck will produce and direct a pilot for “The Middle Man,” a TV crime series set in Boston in the 1960s. Local actor-filmmaker Michael Yebba and Emilio Mauro, who wrote the movie “God Only Knows” (which was filmed around Providence and Boston last year and costarred Leighton Meester and Ben Barnes), will have executive producing credits on the project, according to Deadline.com. The guys apparently developed the idea with Affleck while he was working on “The Town.” No word on where the show will be filmed, but we know Ben likes that Massachusetts tax credit for filmmakers.
