A shout-out to Blue Dragon chef Ming Tsai and Bronwyn chef Tim Wiechmann, whose eateries were among 20 US restaurants feted this week in New York. Esquire magazine hosted a dinner at Le Cirque for the honorees of its annual Best New Restaurants list. Blue Dragon, an Asian gastropub in the Fort Point Channel neighborhood, opened last February, and Bronwyn, with a menu featuring the flavors of Central and Eastern Europe, opened in Union Square in May. . . . Meanwhile, chefs Tim Maslow of Ribelle, Peter Davis of Henrietta’s Table, and Joe Cassinelli of the Painted Burro and Posto, and UpStairs on the Square co-owner Mary-Catherine Deibel were among those who donned blindfolds for a taste challenge at a Perkins School for the Blind fund-raiser this week. . . . Rich DiTieri, cofounder of Pintley, an iPhone app that helps you pick beers and find tastings, was among the locals at Tommy Doyle’s annual Pumpkinfest in Cambridge. Joining him were Kirsten Bennett and Gordo Merseth of Cambridge, Eric Hewitt of the Back Bay, and Ally Edelstein of Acton.
