Actors in town to film “Chasing Life” — the new ABC Family show about a young Boston newspaper reporter who is diagnosed with cancer — included Steven Weber of “Once and Again,” “Brothers & Sisters,” and our favorite show about a Nantucket airport, the ’90s NBC classic “Wings.” He filmed outdoor scenes on Beacon Hill Friday afternoon with the show’s star, Italia Ricci. No word on what character Weber will play; we’re hoping he’s a fellow newspaper writer. The show, which is based on the Mexican drama “Terminales,” filmed its pilot in Boston last year (and used the Globe’s newsroom as a backdrop) but moved production to California once it got a series pickup. The crew returned this past week to film exteriors and outdoor scenes so that the New England landscape looks legit. “Chasing Life” is expected to premiere early next year.
