Local movie producers’ next film is ‘Brother’s Keeper’

Boston moviemakers Paul Bernon and Sam Slater, of Burn Later Productions, have a new movie in the works — a dramedy starring Nick Kroll, “Bridesmaids” actress Rose Byrne, and her boyfriend, recent Emmy winner Bobby Cannavale. According to The Hollywood Reporter, which first reported the project, “Brother’s Keeper” is about a failed entrepreneur who winds up moving in with his sister and brother-in-law. The director will be Ross Katz, who produced “Lost in Translation” and directed Kevin Bacon in “Taking Chance.” Filming begins in New York next year. Burn Later Productions produced the recent indie “Drinking Buddies,” which stars Olivia Wilde and Anna Kendrick. The company’s next film, “Cold Turkey,” with Cheryl Hines, Peter Bogdanovich, and Worcester actress Alicia Witt, comes out later this year.
