What would TMZ do without Rob Gronkowski? The New England Patriots party animal tight end was at it again over the weekend. At a Q&A with fans in Foxborough Sunday night at Bar Louie Restaurant, the sight of an Asian man dressed in Gronk’s No. 87 blue jersey and dancing caused Gronkowski to try and elicit some laughs with a joke about Chinese food and a reference to actor Ken Jeong’s character in the “Hangover” movies. Instead, all that happened is the room fell into an awkward quiet and someone else yelled into the microphone a reminder that everyone in the room had signed a waiver agreeing to hand over any cellphone footage of the night. Surprise! At least one video of the event made its way to the celebrity website TMZ.com, which was only too happy to post it with the headline: “Rob Gronkowski mocks Asian fan.” Gronkowski’s previous off-field exploits include having a porn star take a picture of herself wearing his team jersey and a video of him wrestling not long after suffering a broken forearm. But this latest one comes at a particularly sensitive time for the NFL, which is dealing with the fallout from the Miami Dolphins’ controversy and the question of whether Richie Incognito bullied teammate Jonathan Martin with racist taunts. Patriots spokesman Stacey James had no comment on the video.
