The American Repertory Theater honored founding member Jeremy Geidt, who died at 83 in August, with a star-studded memorial service Monday evening. Among the 300-some supporters at the celebration of Geidt’s life were fellow founding members such as “Monk” star Tony Shalhoub, Cherry Jones (now in “The Glass Menagerie” on Broadway), Thomas Derrah (of The Huntington Theatre Company’s “The Jungle Book”), and Cynthia Darlow ; actress (and Shalhoub’s wife) Brooke Adams; current and past ART board members such as Sam Weisman and Lori Gross; and Amanda Palmer and Neil Gaiman, who performed. ART artistic director Diane Paulus read a letter from Mayor Thomas Menino during the event; Geidt used to help Menino prepare for his State of the City addresses.
