Draco Malfoy casts a spell at Super Megafest

The Sheraton Framingham Hotel & Conference Center was crowded over the weekend with former television personalities, stars from cult classics, the man behind Big Bird, and a pack of buxom models. Super Megafest, a curiously diverse fan convention, featured autograph opportunities and Q&A sessions with a range of personalities, including “Back to the Future” star Christopher Lloyd; “Napoleon Dynamite” star Jon Heder; “I Dream of Jeannie” star Barbara Eden; “Big Bird” puppeteer Caroll Spinney; model-wrestler Barbie Jean Blank; and Playboy’s Miss June 1985, Devin Devasquez, who was also a “Star Search” spokesmodel (remember those?) and had a role in the 1987 Patrick Dempsey movie “Can’t Buy Me Love.

” Drawing some of the most passionate fans during the weekend was Tom Felton, best known as Draco Malfoy in the “Harry Potter” movies, who told fans about his infamous hug with Voldemort in the last “Potter” film. Felton claims that the awkward embrace was unscripted and was initiated by Voldemort actor Ralph Fiennes. “There’s a lot of talk about, ‘You hugged Voldemort.’
I
did not hug anyone,” Felton told a group of laughing fans. Based on what we saw of Megafest, attendees were happy to add to the spectacle of the weekend, including Douglas Johnston and Heather Groves of Middleborough , whose costumes were straight out of “Batman.”
