Patriots hand off turkeys — without a fumble

The Patriots put the ball on the ground several times Sunday against the Broncos. But the players had no trouble handling turkeys Tuesday at the team’s annual Thanksgiving visit to Goodwill’s Boston headquarters. As they have for the past few years, the Patriots handed out food baskets to more than 200 folks from Goodwill’s job training and youth programs. Among those taking part Tuesday were Pats CEO Robert Kraft, Goodwill president Joanne Hilferty, and players Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, and Shane Vereen. Also expected were players Matthew Slater and Nate Solder, various alums, and Pats cheerleaders. Kraft also presented the team’s Difference Maker of the Week Award to George Arguropolo from Haven From Hunger. . . . Tom Brady is also in a giving mood, handing out UGG boots to his teammates Tuesday. (Brady endorses UGG so it’s unlikely he paid cash for all of the Hannen boots, which retail for $260 a pair.) A few years ago, you’ll recall, Brady gave each of his teammates UGG boots before Super Bowl XLVI.
