Jenny Slate seeks funding for film

Milton Academy grad Jenny Slate
(inset), known for the “Marcel the Shell With Shoes On” stop-motion shorts, is promoting a Kickstarter page to raise money for her movie “The Obvious Child,” named for the Paul Simon song. The Gillian Robespierre-directed film, which has already been accepted into the Sundance Film Festival, is about a comedian who loses her job, gets dumped, and also happens to get pregnant. Robespierre and her crew need the $35,000 to finish production (as of Sunday, they were at more than $27,000 with 16 days to go). If you happen to have $10,000 to spare, you can buy yourself an associate producer credit.
