If NFL teams can play in subzero temperatures, why can’t a perennial Oscar nominee speak into a microphone when it snows? Concerned about forecasts that called for up to a foot of snow Wednesday, the folks at UMass Lowell postponed a much-hyped talk by Meryl Streep . The event at the Tsongas Center, “A Conversation With Meryl Streep,” will instead be held April 1, by which time we’ll all know if the actress did or didn’t win her fourth Oscar, for her performance in “August: Osage County.” People wanting a refund can do so at the point of purchase by Feb. 18.
