She hung up her dance slippers long ago, but legendary Alvin Ailey dancer and choreographer Judith Jamison still knows how to captivate an audience. Jamison, artistic director emerita of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, spoke to a packed house at Lesley University’s Washburn Auditorium as part of the Strauch-Mosse Visiting Artist Lecture Series. Jamison’s speech ran the gamut, and she spoke quite passionately about other people of color who have influenced her life, and about how art has the power to alter world events.
