Davis speaks at Women’s Summit

Two-time Oscar-nominated actress and producer Viola Davis (above), who grew up in Central Falls, R.I., was one of the important speakers at the 17th annual Bryant University Women’s Summit in Smithfield, R.I., on Friday. More than 1,000 women attended the event, which also featured speakers Carley Roney, who cofounded the wedding website The Knot, and Carey Lohrenz, the Navy’s first female F-14 Tomcat fighter pilot.
