Before their game against the Toronto Raptors Thursday at TD Garden, the Celtics took time out from a disappointing season to host a youth tournament for local Boys & Girls Club members. Celts assistant coach Walter McCarty, former player Dana Barros , and current Celtic Jerryd Bayless were on hand to assist the nearly 60 youths from Charlestown, Dorchester, Chelsea, and South Boston who participated. During halftime that night, the two top teams met before a packed Garden crowd to see which one could sink the most shots from designated points on the parquet. Nestle’s Nesquik, the event’s corporate sponsor, also presented a $10,000 check to the Boys & Girls Clubs to purchase equipment for after-school programs.
