Leonard Nimoy to be honored in Boston June 7

Leonard Nimoy, better known to most earthlings as the actor who played Spock in the ‘‘Star Trek’’ television show and movies, will be honored by the Boston chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Nimoy, who grew up in Boston, will receive the Governors’ Award at the Boston/New England Emmy Awards ceremony on June 7. The 83-year-old actor grew up in the West End, where he performed onstage from the age of 8 through his teens
before setting out for Hollywood.
