Wes Welker — and big roll of $100 bills — at the Derby

Broncos wideout Wes Welker was feeling flush at the Kentucky Derby. Welker, who was a regular at Churchill Downs during his playing days with the Patriots, was spotted handing out $100 bills to passersby after California Chrome crossed the finish line first. “He said he just won the Kentucky Derby and proceeded to walk down the line until the police officer stopped him,” race fan Marc Blandford told USA Today. “I think six of us ended up with $100 bills...Everyone was pretty much freaking out.” Even if he didn’t win, Welker can afford to be generous. He signed a two-year, $12-million deal with Denver in 2013.
