Lexington-bred, New York-based writer-actress-comedian Rachel Dratch wouldn’t call herself a top chef. “I sort of aspire to be. I try. I’m intrigued by the whole world of it,” she explained. But she was happy to assist Ming Tsai during Tuesday night’s Cooking Live benefit for Family Reach, an organization that provides financial and emotional support to families fighting cancer. Dratch said she got involved with the charity event after meeting Tsai at David Ortiz’s annual Celebrity Golf Classic. Dratch told us that she was in Boston last week too, for a family party, and that she loves to bring her son here so that he can “see what grass is,” she joked. She said she’ll take him to the Cape this summer.
