Hate to say we told you so, but we told you so. A day after we reported that Jenny Dell was leaving NESN, she and the network confirmed her departure. “After an incredible 2 years at @NESN, it’s time to say goodbye,” Dell tweeted Thursday. “Many thanks to the whole #NESN cast & crew. Appreciate the love & support!” Her exit seemed likely after she was removed as NESN’s Red Sox sideline reporter because she and Sox third baseman Will Middlebrooks are dating. A network spokesman had this to say Thursday: “NESN and Jenny Dell have mutually agreed that this is the right time for her explore other opportunities full time. Today is her last day at the network. A search is underway for her replacement on NESN Sports Today.” It’s not clear if Dell has a job lined up, but she’s drawn interest in the past from Fox Sports 1 and Turner Sports/Bleacher Report. It’s been speculated that NESN pulled her from her Sox duties in part because she was mulling other offers while still under contract with the network.
