Fresh-faced Ryan Reed, the 20-year-old NASCAR driver and member of the Roush Fenway Racing team, spent some time talking with young patients at Joslin Diabetes Center before heading up to the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Reed was diagnosed with diabetes at 17 and told he’d never race. He proved the experts wrong, obviously, and now is the spokesperson for the “Driving to Stop Diabetes” campaign.
