‘Spotlight’ films in and outside Globe

Oscar nominees Michael Keaton and Mark Ruffalo were back on Morrissey Boulevard on Sunday (the crew here plotting in the parking lot) to film more of “Spotlight,” the film about the Boston Globe investigative reporting team that uncovered the Roman Catholic Church abuse scandal. The drama, helmed by Thomas McCarthy, is expected to be released later this year. . . . Roma Downey joined local author Alice Hoffman at Rialto at the Charles Hotel over the weekend. Downey, of “Touched By an Angel” fame, produced the miniseries “The Dovekeepers,” based on Hoffman’s 2011 novel. It airs on CBS this week. Downey was also in town to see her daughter, who goes to Boston College.
