Boston Gay Men’s Chorus finds Turkish venue

The Boston Gay Men’s Chorus got a bit of good news Wednesday. The group, whose upcoming show in Turkey had been canceled amid concerns about the openly gay ensemble performing during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, found a new venue. The chorus is now slated to perform June 27 at Bosphorus University in Istanbul. Said Craig Coogan, BGMC executive director: “We are overwhelmed, grateful, and humbled at the outpouring of support we have received from Turkish supporters of equal rights, especially from the Istanbul LGBTI community.” Beginning June 18, the chorus will perform five concerts in four cities in Israel and Turkey.
