“Spotlight,” the film about The Boston Globe’s investigation of the Catholic Church sexual abuse scandal, premiered in New York on Tuesday night. The next stop for the drama is Brookline, where writer-director Tom McCarthy, co-writer Josh Singer, and actors Mark Ruffalo and Brian d’Arcy James will premiere the movie at the Coolidge Corner Theatre on Wednesday. “Spotlight” also took over Variety this week. On Monday, the magazine released its new cover, which features McCarthy, former Spotlight team editor Walter Robinson, and actor Michael Keaton, who plays Robinson in the film.
The red carpet event before “Spotlight” premieres Oct. 28 at the Coolidge Corner Theatre in Brookline will begin at 6 p.m.
