Israeli playwright Joshua Sobol finished up his two-week residency with Israeli Stage on Friday. During his time here, Sobol gave lectures and conversations on the topic of “theatre as a form of resistance to oppression” at various locations around Boston. He visited four universities — Holy Cross, Emerson, Brandeis, and BU — and Boston’s Temple Israel, as well as the New Repertory Theatre in Watertown. A production of Sobol’s play “Sinners,” directed by Emmy-winning actor Brian Cox and starring his wife, Nicole Ansari, was staged at Boston University.
