More than 650 guests attended the Medicine that Matters Gala at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel Monday night. The event, which raised over $1 million for the Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program, was co-chaired by Maureen and John Hailer, president and CEO of Natixis Global Asset Management, and Linda Pizzuti Henry, Globe managing director and cofounder of HUBweek. Honorees included Boston Medical Center president and CEO Kate Walsh and Massachusetts General Hospital president Dr. Peter L. Slavin, who were given the Dr. Jim O’Connell Award, and Bank of America vice chair Anne Finucane (pictured with O’Connell) and her husband, MSNBC commentator (and former Globe scribe) Mike Barnicle, who received the Tim Russert Award.
