Mindy Kaling’s new series “Champions” has been picked up by NBC. According to Variety, the half-hour comedy series stars Anders Holm as Vince, “a charismatic gym owner with no ambition” who lives with his handsome younger brother, played by North Reading’s own Andy Favreau. Kaling plays the role of Priya, Vince’s old high school fling and mother of his teenage son. When she drops their 15-year-old off at dad’s doorstep, things (as you can imagine) get interesting. The series is written by Kaling and Charlie Grandy.
