Will he or won’t he?

According to Casey Affleck, brother Ben Affleck won’t be starring in “The Batman.”

There’s been a lot of speculation about whether Ben, who played the Caped Crusader in “Batman v Superman,” would return to the role in the stand-alone film, and his kid brother seems to think he won’t.

During an appearance on radio station WEEI as part of the Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon, Casey was asked about Ben’s future as Batman.

“I thought he was an OK Batman,” Casey said. “No, he was great. He was great. He’s a hero, so he had something to channel and work with there. But he’s not gonna do that movie, I don’t think.”

When WEEI cohost Rich Keefe expressed surprise, Affleck seemed bemused.

“Is that breaking news?” he said. “I was just kind of making that up.”

Affleck, who won the Academy Award for his performance in “Manchester by the Sea,” hung around afterward to throw out the first pitch before the Red Sox-Cardinals game.
