The devastating opioid epidemic that’s been the focus of many Globe stories and the HBO documentary “Heroin: Cape Cod, USA” will be spotlighted in a series deing developed by Starz. According to Deadline, the drama, titled “P-Town,” will be about a hard-partying lesbian in Provincetown who works as a federal Fisheries Service Agent and uses her gun and badge to seduce female tourists. She becomes acutely aware of the Outer Cape’s grim heroin epidemic when she discovers a body in Cape Cod Bay.
The show’s being written and executive produced by former “Gotham” and “Mentalist” writer Rebecca Cutter, a Cambridge native. Also on board are “Power” executive producer Gary Lennon and Jerry Bruckheimer TV.
