The celebrated milliner creates a hat for Portsmouth, N.H., historic fashion show

The most charming aspect of phoning up internationally celebrated milliner Philip Treacy is that he’s ready to chat, and it’s not just business. He’s like that favorite eccentric uncle who always has a good story to tell. These days, he’s perhaps best known for designing 36 of the hats that were worn at last year’s royal wedding. He’s also taken the time to create a hat for a new exhibit at Portsmouth’s Strawbery Banke Museum.
