Dr. Charles Steinberg’s title is Senior Advisor to Boston Red Sox President and CEO Larry Lucchino. What he does to help the team and burnish its image is hard to quantify, though. As the Red Sox official most responsible for staging such extravaganzas as Fenway Park’s 100th anniversary celebration, Steinberg, a boyish, ebullient, 53-year old licensed dentist and Baltimore native, is the consummate ideas guy, a fan-centric thinker who long ago fell in love with baseball’s past.
