Spikes and studs get dangerously fashionable

It was more than 20 years ago when Sting warned listeners “Don't Stand So Close to Me.” Now, one of this season’s biggest trends is essentially saying the same thing. The current crop of studded and spiked clothing and accessories resembles medieval weapons of torture. Perhaps Gaga’s dangerous dressing has finally permeated popular culture, or the “Rock of Ages” sentiment of every rose having thorns has taken hold. These heavy metal — and metal-heavy — looks are showing up at all price points and manner of clothing, so feel free to pick up one of these little numbers. Just remember to leave them in the closet on date nights.
