How do your Wellesley and Nantucket customers differ in terms of what they look for?

KIMBERLY In Nantucket, people are often shopping for what they're going to wear that night. They might come in and say, "I'm going out to dinner, and I need a pair of earrings, a cashmere wrap, and a handbag." In Wellesley, customers are less focused on an evening out.

Your business is named for your grandmother, and you've said she's the inspiration behind it. How does her influence show in your stores?

ALEXIS A lot of what we liked about our grandmother's fashion sense was that she was always very stylish and put together, but it looked so easy and functional.

What are you going to wear this fall?

KIMBERLY I'm addicted to cowboy boots. I'm going to incorporate them into almost every outfit this fall.

ALEXIS I love short motorcycle jackets. They look good with dresses, with jeans, with everything. Whenever I come across a little motorcycle jacket — whether in leather or canvas or something that's really inexpensive — I gravitate toward it because it's such a good layering piece. — A.A.
