The store’s shoes are vegan — no animal ingredients or byproducts. The sale is expected to run at least through Labor Day (Sept. 2). Dover Rug & Home is running an End of Summer Tent Sale through Labor Day. Select hand-knotted rugs and in-stock carpeting is marked down 20-70 percent; find traditional and contemporary styles from Barbara Barry, Karastan, Tufenkian, Kevin Walz, Company C, and others. The annual South End neighborhood sidewalk sale happens Friday through Sunday, with big discounts on clothing, home items, jewelry, kids gear, food, and more from around 20 businesses. Participants include Coco Baby, Flock, Lekker Home, M. Flynn Accessories, Sault, and Uniform; find a complete list at (click on “Events”). Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, though hours at specific stores may vary. Some shops will participate two of the three days.


Artist & Craftsman Supply is offering a few back-to-school specials. Amsterdam acrylics, Georgian oil paints, and Canson and Strathmore sketch and other pads are 50 percent off of list price; Golden acrylics and mediums and Gamblin oils and mediums are 40 percent off of list price. (These are larger discounts below the list price than what the stores normally offer.) The specials run through October.
