Alexis Bittar tempts with cunning style

Jewelry designer and industry darling Alexis Bittar opened a boutique on Newbury Street this summer. The shop carries pieces from Bittar’s various collections, including the Lucite and crystal creations for which he’s best known, as well as a selection of antiquejewelry. We are particularly taken with this spiral serpent ring, meant to evoke danger and romance. Equal parts fantasy and punk, it’s concocted from ruthenium (a metal related to platinum), with gold tone and crystal accents. “Jardin de Papillon” snake ring, $195 at Alexis Bittar, 130 Newbury St., Boston, 617-236-0505, www.alexisbittar.com
